Weddings at blue: Samantha and Robert

The holiday season always fills our hearts with cheer, making it a wonderful time to look back on some of the heartfelt weddings at blue this past year. Samantha and Robert made their September wedding a night to remember with plenty of personal touches, including a memorable first dance. The newlyweds look back on their favorite moments and what made their day so special:

  1. What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?

I think that would be all the little details we found that personalized the wedding for us. From the wood burned/engraved wine box to be opened each anniversary to the individual tree name tags for seating chart that we wood burned/engraved ourselves, each little detail really added something to the wedding. The photo booth props were a lot of fun to shop for, too.

  1. Why did you choose blue as your wedding venue?

Honestly blue wasn’t our first choice… We had booked elsewhere only because it was OUR mistake to never ask about prices. We assumed that it would be too expensive to host our wedding at blue, but it was very, very reasonable. We felt very unsure about our first reservation and it wasn’t nearly as nice or classy of a location as blue, so when we spoke with Kaitlyn and she gave me prices we immediately switched to blue! We were so excited because we LOVE blue. I go with the girls for happy hour all the time and the staff is almost like family, so it was truly wonderful to be able to have our wedding at my favorite location.

  1. What did your guests say they enjoyed most about your wedding?

Hands down the photo booth was a true winner. We used our own iPad and bought an app for $30 and all the props. Blue provided the back drop and the table for it all to go on which was a huge help.

  1. What is your favorite memory looking back on your wedding day?

WOW tough question. I had a wonderful time with my daughter and mother and best friends prior… Seeing my husbands face as I walked down the aisle and saying out vows to each other while trying not to cry. Dancing the waltz that we learned was amazing!!! We nailed it (although my dress got caught once!) No one expected us to waltz, so it was a wonderful surprise for family and friends to watch. The food was amazing. We still get calls from friends talking about the steak and stuffed flounder and how much they enjoyed it. The cake smash was epic. I didn’t think my husband was going to full on smash the cake in my face but once he did it was pay back time. Thankfully we managed to clean up and take one of the most stunning photos outside after.

On working with our team here at the event center at blue, Samantha was genuinely grateful.

“Kaitlyn is priceless. She truly made us feel so secure with what was planned and that everything would go perfectly (which it did thanks to her). She saved us money by letting us use the photo booth back drop and cake cutting tools, etc. She warned us of things we hadn’t thought of that were huge life savers. All in all, the wedding would not have been as amazing as it was if it wasn’t for Kaitlyn. Thank you thank you thank you! All of the staff were amazing!”

Our hearts are full to the brim as we congratulate Samantha and Robert once again on their wedding. Thank you for celebrating with us, and we can’t wait to celebrate your upcoming engagement-anniversary with you here at blue!
