Planning your Rehearsal Dinner

January 12th, 2016

You spend a lot of time and energy planning for the perfect wedding day, but what about the day before? Planning your rehearsal dinner is an equally important part of wedding planning. Whether you’re preparing for your big day at a wedding venue in Lehigh Valley or elsewhere, we can help you plan for the big day before. So, what are the first steps you should take towards booking your rehearsal dinner?

Determine your guest list. Although the traditional rehearsal dinner invitees are the bridal party, immediate family and officiate, that list has been known to expand depending on the particulars of your wedding. Do you have some out of town guests who will be arriving the night before the wedding? Consider inviting them as a courtesy to say thanks for making the trip. If you have a lot of out of town guests, some couples choose to host a reception after their rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, where they can greet all guests who arrive a day early.

Choose a nearby location. You’ve likely booked your wedding venue, ceremony and hotel in close proximity of one another for the convenience of your guests. If you are holding your wedding rehearsal at one of these locations, try to stay within that area when looking for a place to book your rehearsal dinner.

Check with your wedding venue! You love the venue you chose for your wedding, why not look there for your rehearsal dinner, too? Many venues have a variety of rooms and menus to choose from. At our event center, we have numerous private event spaces with completely different looks than our main event space. Hosting your wedding in our ballroom? You and your guests can enjoy one of our separate private dining rooms for your rehearsal dinner. We offer various menus to choose from, so you can mix entrees up for your guests, too.

Hosting your rehearsal dinner at your wedding venue offers you added security, too. You’ve already worked with them extensively to plan the perfect wedding day, and you know you can expect the same level of service as you plan for the day before. We love to work with brides and grooms on rehearsal dinners, post-wedding brunches and even bridal showers! Having diverse rooms and menus allows our Lehigh Valley event venue to cater to the most important guest: you!
